Emirates News Agency – The Dubai Food Festival kicks off on 2 May with an appetizing programme – Advice Eating

DUBAI, 29th April, 2022 (WAM) — The Dubai Food Festival celebrates Dubai as the global culinary capital, showcasing the city’s most exciting gastronomic offerings and remarkable culinary experiences with a 14-day city-wide festival of food from 2-15 May 2022.

With 12,000 restaurants and cafes, Dubai attracts the most enthusiastic diners with tantalizing flavors from around the world – everything from world-renowned chefs and global restaurant brands to street food and local restaurants inspired by the 200+ nationalities living in Dubai.

Over two weeks, the 2022 Festival will highlight Dubai’s rich culinary diversity, authentic and local cuisine, gastronomic innovation and exceptional value. Celebrating this year during the Eid Al Fitr holiday, DFF connects families and friends through food with special events including the Eid Big Breakfast May 2-6 and Time Out Market’s celebration of its first birthday with three festivities on May 2nd and 3rd and May 4th.

In partnership with 40 of the city’s top restaurants, Dubai Restaurant Week returns from 6 May with specially curated two-course lunch menus from AED95 or three-course dinner menus from AED150 per person. Guests will enjoy irresistible dishes made from the freshest ingredients – all at an attractive price, saving customers up to 50 percent when dining out.

Foodie Experiences returns to this year’s Dubai Food Festival, offering unique culinary adventures across Dubai. Throughout the festival (2-15 May), Foodie Experiences will offer a curated series of Dubai’s most anticipated and prominent cooking tables, masterclasses, culinary collaborations and exceptional, exclusive dining concepts on DFF.

Diners across the city are encouraged to become advocates for their favorite restaurants by entering the My Hidden Gems contest.

By visiting three different restaurants with a maximum budget of AED 100, creating a short video of the different celebrations and posting with the tag @dubaieats, the best content following a theme for their journey (e.g. according to Art the kitchen, location, etc.) have a chance to win cash prizes with a pool of AED 100,000.

Aiming to uncover and highlight Dubai’s gastronomic diversity through unique, independent, value-for-money and home-grown concepts, the My Hidden Gems Competition will take place from May 2nd to 15th throughout the DFF.

The festival connects families and friends through food during the special time of Eid Al Fitr, offering 18 Eid Big Breakfast promotions across the city from May 2-6, featuring authentic breakfast experiences of diverse nationalities and cultures. Participating restaurants include Bull and Bear, Reif Japanese Kushiyaki, Hillhouse Brasserie, Mezzerie, Gastro Kitchen and more.

Dubai’s thriving restaurant industry is full of local restaurants, cafes and dining concepts. During DFF 2022, diners in town can enjoy exclusive menus, price offers, specialty dishes and masterclasses from a range of the city’s most popular concepts, including Akiba Dori’s Kids’ Pizza Classes, where kids can create their own pizzas. Guests receive a 20 percent discount at Tresind during DFF and enjoy an exclusive menu and special mango dessert for DFF at Orfali Bros.

Dubai is home to 16 restaurants that have been shortlisted for the MENA 50 Best Collection and as part of DFF 2022, a special suite of experiences will be offered at a selection of these iconic restaurants between May 2nd and 15th. Highlights include curated menus from Dubai Restaurant Week at restaurants such as LOWE, BB Social Dining and Indochine, as well as an exclusive Chef Table experience at Reif Kushiyaki and a delicious vegan menu at Il Borro Tuscan Bistro.

Dubai Food Festival will be collaborating with Comedy Bizarre at Bla Bla Dubai, Jumeirah Beach Residence from 13th to 20th May as part of Dubai Comedy Festival. Offering guests dinner and a show, the curated menu touches on different gastro palettes, offering dishes from cuisines around the world as well as laughs from Dubai’s homegrown talent such as COMEDY JAM, SHE-LARIOUS SHOW, NOTES & ROAST, BEAT THE GONG and MAGICAL LAUGHTER as well as world famous comedians.

During DFF 2022, guests in town can enjoy unique experiences at events across the city, including celebrating the first birthday of Time Out Market with three days of celebrations on May 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and the Ripe workshop and events calendar Market cooking classes from May 6th to 15th. Break the Block will also host a Street Food Block Party on May 13th and 14th at d3, where foodies will enjoy some of Dubai’s most popular street food concepts such as Birria Tacos, Café Isan, Chiki, Fifth Flavor, High Joint and more be able .

A special Chocolate Show will also be held at Galeries Lafayette between May 12th and 14th, where chocolate fans can enjoy chocolate booths, cooking workshops, classes and more.

To celebrate the annual festival, malls and attractions across the city offer exclusive dining, deals and fun for the whole family. Retail promotions available across the DFF include Share Rewards programs at Mall of the Emirates, City Center Mirdif and City Center Deira, a dedicated food photography workshop at City Center Deira and a series of promotions in stores across the city, including Marks and Spencer, Nespresso and Starbucks.
